Chapter 7: Twice Bitten

'If you didn't want to get caught, why did you break into the ticket-booth?'

'All the other phones were being difficult. That was the only thing I could do.'

'You need to work on your crisis resolution technique.'

The grey-face took a long look at me. 'Where did you go when you broke out?'

'I tried to go home.'

'I got a long list of incidents reported in the general area of where you were found, and I'm gonna try to pin every one of them on you, do you know why?'

'No.'

'Because I don't like you.'

'Why not? I like you...'

'You ever work as a biological engineer?'

'Funny question.'

'Not to me it isn't. Not when you consider the human element.'

'The human element?'

'Yes, a little thing us normal people consider before we do anything... I'm sure someone like you would consider that a waste of time?'

'Oh, I guess that's fair.'

'I'm on a strict program of non-repeats, my doctor will not be pleased I've done something twice, its not good for me.'
